课程介绍 Workshop Description

在这个工作坊中, 学员会创作一个以肖像和自我肖像为主的个人系列。学员可以开始一个全新系列或者继续已经开始的项目。这个课程的目的是为了引导学员放开思维，发挥创意，深度探索他们的作品理念。课程包括学员的个人创作时间*，作品点评，以及讨论包括编辑和推广等后期工作。 学员会要求在工作坊的最后一个公开点评课里展示8副完成的作品。

In this course, students conduct a personal project or exercise on the theme of portraiture and self-portrait.  Students may begin a new project or continue an existing one.  The goal of the course is to help students develop and deepen meaning in their work. In each class, we critique student work, explore the direction of projects, and gain knowledge of editing.  Students will have Individual Work Hour* each morning before come to the critique and discussion in the afternoon.  Students are required to present no less than 8 images for the Final Critique, which will be open to public.

讲师简历Instructor Biography：

沈玮出生在上海，现居住工作在纽约。沈玮的作品得到广泛展出，包括纽约市立博物馆，费城艺术博物馆，纽约林肯中心，哈恩美术馆，澳大利亚摄影中心，美国东南部摄影博物馆，以及刘海粟美术馆等。他的作品刊登评论于众多出版物，如《美国摄影》，《中国摄影》，《Aperture 光圈》，《纽约客》，《ArtNews 艺术新闻》，《GQ 智族》 以及《生活月刊》等。

沈玮的作品被众多博物馆收藏，其中包括纽约现代艺术博物馆(MoMA)，盖蒂博物馆 (Getty Museum)，费城艺术博物馆，美国当代摄影博物馆 (MOCP)，美国国会图书馆，St. Petersburg艺术博物馆，卡内基艺术博物馆，美国华人博物馆，何香凝美术馆，洛克菲勒兄弟基金会以及金塞研究所(Kinsey Institute)等。

Born and raised in Shanghai, Shen Wei is an artist based in New York City. His work has been exhibited internationally, with venues including the Museum of the City of New York, the Philadelphia Museum of Art, the Moscow Museum of Modern Art, the Harns Museum of Art, and the Liu Haisu Art Museum in Shanghai. His work has been featured in publications such as The New Yorker, Aperture, ARTnews, GQ China, American Photo, and Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung.

Shen Wei's work is included in the permanent collection of the Museum of Modern Art (New York), the Philadelphia Museum of Art, the J. Paul Getty Museum, the Museum of Contemporary Photography, the Library of Congress, the Carnegie Museum of Art, the He Xiangning Art Museum, the Museum of Chinese in America, the Rockefeller Brothers Fund and the Kinsey Institute.

Shen Wei is a recipient of the Rockefeller Foundation Bellagio Center Arts Residency, the Asian Cultural Council Arts & Religion Fellowship, and the Urban Artist Initiative NYC Fellowship. He holds an MFA in photography, video, and related media from the School of Visual Arts, New York; and a BFA in photography from Minneapolis College of Art and Design.
